Emas Kiara Industries Bhd (EKIB), an integrated geosynthetics and industrial textiles manufacturer, is accelerating its production capacity almost five times from 3000 to 17000 tons per year.

Company officials said purchase of the machine, which was specially designed to produce high-quality industrial fibre like polypropylene, polyester and bicomponent would establish company status as a major producer of PP Staple Fibre in Malaysia.

This increase in capacity will ensure EKIB turns more competitive in the production of non-woven products as well as help it realise its plan to capture more market share locally and abroad, officials added.

The new fibre machine would be located in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan and is estimated to be fully operational by the third quarter of the year.
