Lotte Chemical plans maintenance shutdown at PTA plant

Lotte Chemical, considered to be a pioneer of petrochemical industry in South Korea, is planning to shut its No.2 Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) plant for maintenance turnaround in mid-October, 2013.
 
“The Ulsan-based No. 2 PTA plant would remain shut for around one week,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
 
The No. 2 PTA plant has production capacity of 350,000 mt/year.
 
“The plant is currently running at 100 percent operating rates,” the official informed.
 
Lotte Chemical’s products, including ethylene, are distributed to 152 countries around the world.
