South Korea’s Yeochun Naphtha Cracking Center (YNCC) is planning a maintenance shutdown at its Yeosu-based No.3 aromatics unit next year.

“The No.3 aromatics unit is planned to be shut for maintenance turnaround in September 2014,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

“The plant is likely to remain off-steam for around 40-45 days,” the official added.

The plant has annual capacity to produce 110,000 mt of benzene, 55,000-60,000 mt of toluene and 35,000-40,000 mt of solvent-MX.

YNCC is the largest naphtha cracking center in South Korea and it produces various base materials for the petrochemical industry, such as ethylene, benzene, propylene, toluene, etc. and supplies them to both domestic and international markets.
