CPC Corp shuts No.4 naphtha cracker for maintenance

CPC Corporation, Taiwan’s state-owned petrochemical corporation, has shut its No. 4 naphtha cracker for maintenance turnaround.
 
“The cracker was shut on October 10, 2013, and is likely to remain off stream for around three months,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
 
The cracker is located in Linyuan, Taiwan, and has an ethylene production capacity of 385,000 mt/year.
 
When asked about CPC Corp’s new naphtha cracker, the official said: “A new naphtha cracker with ethylene production capacity of 720,000 mt/year will finish test running next month.”
 
CPC Corp has also shut its No.3 aromatics plant for maintenance turnaround on October 8, 2013.
 
The aromatics plant is likely to remain shut for around one month, according to the official.
 
The aromatics plant, also located in Linyuan, has capacity to produce 36,000 tons/year of benzene, 115,000 tons/year of toluene, and 135,000 tons/year of Mixed Xylene.
