For Sanjay Jog, Head-HR, Pantaloon Retail India (Ltd), worries about recruiting right professionals is over as this retail royal is considering fresh methods of expanding its talent pool.

Pantaloon Retail India Ltd has decided to create its own resources.

For this, company has joined hands with four B-schools across the country - Welingkar Institute of Management Development, K.J. Somaiya Institute, IILM, Delhi and Chennai Business School. Pantaloon will offer letters to all students enrolling for the MBA programme.

On the completion of programme, students have the option to receive an offer whether they want to join the company.

In 2005, Pantaloon absorbed 62 management students from these institutions.

Pantaloon Retail currently has 14,000 employees and is adding about 600 frontline and 60 managerial employees every month. Not following the industry trends, the group wants to form a long term rapport with its employees.

Jog says company does not want to follow the policy of hire & fire because employees need the assurance of a career growth and do not like to be treated differently.
