Japan-based Mitsui Chemicals is currently operating its Osaka-based naphtha cracker at 85 percent of its production capacity due to lower demand.

“The naphtha cracker was shutdown for maintenance turnaround on September 19 this year and it has been restarted recently,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

“The cracker with Ethylene production capacity of 450,000 mt/year is currently operational at 85 percent of its capacity, owing to lower demand,” the official added.

The next maintenance schedule for the naphtha cracker is not yet decided, according to the official.
