With “Sustainable Textiles” as the theme of this event, the participants presented the latest developments in their respective fields, exchanged ideas on implementing green practices and addressed current technical issues in the textile industry.
In her welcoming speech, Vice Chairman Teresa Yang was pleased to see the concerted efforts across the Group as well as the industry on promoting sustainable production.
Attaching great importance to Exploration and Environment among our corporate values, she remarked that only by advancing sustainability practices such as adopting technologies and innovations will we be able to boost productivity and hence sustain our growth in the long run.
Zhang Yugao, Group Director of Research and Development, also shared with the audience the latest market situation and encouraged everyone to take a bold and pioneering approach on developing innovative green products. Cheng Peng, General Manager (Knittting) also underscored the importance of learning from The 2013 Esquel Sustainability Symposium earlier this year and also Esquel’s journey of sustainable development.
The forum concluded with a great success, with every participant looking forward to getting together again in 2014.
