Japan-based Idemitsu Kosan is planning to take its naphtha cracker off-stream for maintenance turnaround in September 2014.

“The shutdown is expected to last around 40 days,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The naphtha cracker, based in Tokuyama, has an annual ethylene production capacity of 623,000 mt and propylene production capacity of 400,000 mt.

At present, the naphtha cracker is operating at full capacity rates, the official informed.
