Japan-based Asahi Kasei Chemicals is likely to shut its naphtha cracker for maintenance turnaround in mid-February, 2014.

“The Mizushima bases naphtha cracker is likely to be taken off-stream for maintenance turnaround from mid-February to mid-April, 2014,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The naphtha cracker has an annual capacity to produce 470,000 tons of ethylene and 300,000 tons of propylene.

Currently, the naphtha cracker is operating at 85-90 percent of its production capacity, the official informed.
