JX Nippon to shut two PX plants for maintenance

JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation is planning to shut two paraxylene (PX) plants for maintenance turnaround in mid-May next year.
 
“The Kashima PX plant will be shut in mid-May 2014 for 50-60 days, while the Oita plant will be shut in mid-May next year for 60 days for maintenance turnaround,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
 
The Kashima PX plant has two lines—one line has production capacity of 170 kt/yr and the other line has a capacity of 475 kt/yr—while the Oita plant has a capacity of 440 kt/yr.
