Cotton trading began on a sedate note this morning even as prices remained at Rs2425 per maund in the spot markets at the Karachi Cotton Association.
As per the Export Promotion Bureau, total bales registered during the period 1.8.2005 and 7.4.2006 have reached a figure of 267,935 bales.
On the other hand, shipments of Pakistani cotton during the period August 2005 and January 2006, reached 236,617 bales as per Federal Bureau of Statistics.
Today, only three stations registered noteworthy trade of cotton bales under the ready cotton transactions.
They were Upper Sindh (1800 bales at Rs 2450), SDK ( 3000 bales at Rs2375/2450 and Rahim Yaar Khan( 300 bales at Rs 2425/2475 per maund.
