After a long stability, cotton prices moved down by Rs25 to settle at Rs2400 per maund, Karachi Cotton Association sources informed.
Only one station, Khairpur records transaction of 400 cotton bales at Rs2425 per maund.
KCA sources also reveal that there are around 9,87,440 bales of unsold cotton stocks on April 15, 2006.
From the total cotton arrivals of 1,23,88,318, Punjab cotton dominate the figures with 98,42,942 bales and Sindh cotton registered 25,45,376 bales.
Exporters purchased 14,850 bales of Punjab cotton and 59,550 bales of Sindh cotton, while mill owners bought 90,30,194 bales of Punjab and 22,96,284 bales of Sindh cotton.
