JX Nippon Oil & Energy shuts FCC for maintenance

JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation has shut a fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) for maintenance turnaround.
 
“The FCC was shut on February 20, 2014, and the maintenance work is likely to last for a month,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
 
The Marifu, Japan-based FCC has an annual capacity to produce 50,000 mt of propylene.
 
Propylene finds use as a feedstock in manufacturing of various products, including textiles.
