Taekwang Industrial, the South Korea-based integrated textile manufacturer covering various synthetic fibres, such as acryl, spandex, nylon, etc. to spinning, weaving and processing of wide range of textiles, has shut its purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant for maintenance.

“The PTA plant was shut for maintenance on March 10, 2014, and is likely to remain off-steam for around ten days,” a company official informed fibre2fashion.

The Ulsan-based plant has a capacity to produce 1 million mt PTA per annum.

Incidentally, the PTA production facility at Ulsan is the first in the world to have successfully used Rotary Pressure Filter for commercial operation.
