Hengli Petrochemical, which commissioned the first phase of a world-scale purified terephthalic acid (PTA) project in Changxing Island of Dalian, Liaoning Province, China, in October 2012, is planning to shut the plant for maintenance turnaround.

“The PTA plant is likely to be shut in end of March 2014 for around two weeks, to carry on maintenance activity,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

Currently, the PTA plant has a production capacity of 2.2 mt/year, but it is likely to reach 4.4 mt/year once the entire project is commissioned.
