Idemitsu Kosan Co. Ltd., the second largest petroleum refiner in Japan, after Nippon Oil, is likely to shut its Tokuyama aromatics plant for maintenance turnaround this year.

“The Tokuyama aromatics plant is expected to be shut for around two months beginning early September 2014 for maintenance turnaround,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The aromatics plant has capacity to produce 214,000 mt/year of PX, 219,000 mt/year of benzene, and 290,000 mt/year of Isomer-grade Mixed Xylene.
