South Korea-based SK Innovation, one of the world’s leading energy and petrochemical companies, has delayed the start of its new aromatics plant by few days.

The new aromatics plant coming up at Incheon in northwestern South Korea, not too far from the capital city of Seoul, is planned to have paraxylene capacity of 1.3 million mt/year and benzene capacity of 500,000 mt/year.

“Construction work at the plant is not yet completed. We are still making preparations for the new plant and it is likely to be started in mid-July,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

The new aromatics plant was initially scheduled to start in the first week of July 2014.
