Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation is likely to shut its naphtha cracker, located at Mizushima, Japan, for maintenance turnaround next year.

“The naphtha cracker is likely to be shut for maintenance turnaround in early May 2015 for around two months,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

“The naphtha cracker has ethylene production capacity of 431,000 tons/yr and propylene capacity of 296,000 tons/yr,” the official further informed.

Both ethylene and propylene are used for making man-made fibres in the textile industry.
