JX Nippon Oil & Energy shuts FCC for maintenance

JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation has shut a fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) for maintenance turnaround.
 
“The FCC was shut on October 8, 2014, and the cracker is likely remain shut till November 16,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
 
The Negishi, Japan-based FCC has an annual propylene production capacity of 85,000 mt.
 
JX Nippon also has a FCC at Marifu with an annual capacity to produce 50,000 mt of propylene.
 
Propylene finds use as a feedstock in manufacturing of various products, including textiles.
