Those in the high growth category include Cement, Paints, Sponge Iron, Castings, Ceramics, Tractors, and Motor Cycles. MPV'S, M&HCVs, Scooters, recorded negative sales growth.
According to the CII-ASCON survey, the Indian manufacturing industry is showing a recovery on the export front as compared to the Q3 results.
The latest survey indicates that 18 sectors have shown excellent growth in exports. There were 7 sectors in the high growth category, 15 sectors recorded moderate growth, while 10 sectors registered a fall in exports.
Sponge Iron, Abrasives, Auto Components, Castings, Fluid Power, Forgings, Industrial Valves, Machine Tools, Sugar Machinery, Scooters are sectors, which have done well on the export front, registering excellent growth.
Those in the high growth category include Precision Tubes, Air & Gas Compressors, Drugs and Pharmaceuticals. Cement, Soda Ash, Steel, Flat Glass, Tea, Electrical Fans and Utility Vehicles reported negative growth in exports.
The survey also brings out that the intermediate goods sector has scored more in the excellent growth category than the corresponding period last year. There is also a greater shift from the high growth category to the excellent growth category as compared to the corresponding period last year.
