In the Quality front, 14 cotton samples from demonstrated fields (DF) and another 14 cotton samples from non-demonstrated fields (NDF) were collected and got tested in CIRCOT, Nagpur and the results are as below:-
1. Average Staple Length of the samples from demonstrated Fields has increased to 29.29 m. m. compared to 27.39 m. m. in non-demonstrated fields;
2. Average strength of the samples from demonstrated fields has increased to 22 Gtx compared to 20.86 Gtx. in non-demonstrated fields;
3. Average Micronaire of the samples from demonstrated fields has improved to 3.43 compared to 3.31 in non-demonstrated fields.
Farmers in this area are very happy with this FLD Programme as they have gained monetarily as well as in knowledge and experience on Modern Methods of Cotton Cultivation. The cotton farmers in the neighboring areas have also benefited immensely from this project about the new farm techniques.
