The 2006 SDC/Perkin Innovation Award is a special award marking the 150th anniversary of the discovery of mauveine – the first synthetic dye – by William Henry Perkin, a Former President of the Society.
Entries are invited for any product, process or service that breaks new ground in the field of colour and coloration – one which has led to new opportunities for colour; has challenged existing conventions; is environmentally conscious, or demonstrates the application of new colour science or technology.
In addition to a specially commissioned trophy, a prize of £2,500 is on offer and the winning organisation – from industry, commerce or academia – will enjoy the benefit of using the prestigious SDC/Perkin marque.
The winner will also receive extensive publicity in the trade and professional press worldwide.
