The result is, for example, a high demand for hotel and restaurant furnishings. As an attractive market for home and household textiles, the contract business is growing in significance. And the Heimtextil is the world's only trade fair to embrace all relevant textile-product segments for the contract business. Moreover, the trade-visitor interest in the contract business is growing steadily (in 2006, it amounted to 15 percent).
The Heimtextil management has been committed to this segment for many years and, for example, illuminated the German market when, in 2005, it published a study entitled 'Contract furnishing 2005 – the professional market for home textiles in Germany'.
Now, the organisers are taking another step forward: "The Heimtextil will take a stronger and more visible position than before as the meeting place for everyone involved in the contract business", explained Detlef Braun, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH.
The creative impulses at the fair flow together in the Forum and the Festhalle. With the preview of the 2007/2008 season offered by trend researcher Gunnar Frank, The Netherlands, the Heimtextil has a barometer that, over recent years, has developed into a future-oriented trend show that attracts attention from all over the world.
Consumers interested in textiles will also be well catered for during the next Heimtextil when, for the third time, the latest trends are transferred from the Exhibition Centre into the city. Thus, in the wake of the two extremely successful events in 2005 and 2006, there will once again be more than a hint of trade-fair air in downtown Frankfurt on Saturday, 13 January 2007.
