After almost a week, cotton prices have shown some movement and this is a welcome change for traders.
Prices have gone up and settled at Rs2525 per maund today, informed Karachi Cotton Association (KCA).
According to the KCA, four cotton stations witnessed transactions of around 5500 bales on June 8, 2006.
Novabad registered transactions of only 300 bales at Rs2525; RYK saw 1000 bales changed hands at Rs2600, prices at SDU were also Rs2600 and 346 bales transacted there. Samandari recorded the highest number of cotton bales (4000) at Rs2650.
Cotlook Indices revealed that A Index was 57.15 and B Index stood at 54.40 on June 7, 2006.
