Hudson's Bay Company (Hbc) is celebrating the grand opening of its second Calgary off-price retail store, Designer Depot on Thursday, June 29th, 2006. The new Calgary Sunridge location will offer 30,000 square feet of designer brands, and will employ up to 55 associates. For the grand opening, Designer Depot will host a barbeque and a ribbon cutting.
Hbc's existing Calgary Designer Depot location has already become a favourite destination for denim-lovers, selling 10 percent more denim than any other location in Canada.
Just in time for Stampede, both Calgary stores will offer exceptional deals on a large selection of brand name and designer denim pants, jackets and skirts, along with cowboy hats, boots and bolo ties. In addition, the new store also carries a broad assortment of designer apparel and décor merchandise for women, men, kids, infants and home.
"Hbc is delighted to help Calgarians look great for less in time for the Stampede," said Connie Johnson, Designer Depot store manager. "Our new Designer Depot location offers the latest styles and fashions from designers that you'd typically see in fashion magazines, but we have them at 'depot' prices."
This is the 8th Designer Depot Hbc has opened in Canada since 2004, and the third location in Alberta. The Company will open a fourth Alberta location in Edmonton later this summer. In addition to stand alone stores, Hbc also offers off-price merchandise through 'Style Outlet' shops within Bay stores across Canada, in Calgary downtown, Lethbridge, and the Kingsway mall in Edmonton.
