Australian economist for TFIA Business Services, Lachlan Caddy, was one of the consultants hired by ABIT to participate in the II Texbrasil Circuit – Studies of International Markets, held May 29 thru June 8.
Through the Texbrasil Program, and the support of Apex-Brasil, five international market studies were presented developed exclusively for Brazilian companies that want to enter or expand business in South Africa, England, France, Australia and Colombia. Lachlan Caddy and the other four consultants fulfilled a series of presentations covering the cities of São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Vitória, Salvador and Fortaleza.
During this work, the Australian consultant analyzed products from approximately 150 Brazilian textile companies. Starting now, Caddy intends to research Australian companies to evaluate the interest in supplying products from Brazil. This information will supply a database for ABIT, which will invite interested retailers to visit the country and know the products personally.
“Brazil has many products with aggregated value with manual embroidery and an original design,” he said. “Brazilian culture stands out in many of its products.' The consultant also declared that he saw collections that may attend to a specific niche of the Australian apparel market. He described the opportunity to see what was happening in Brazil, where the companies have great interest in Australia, as fantastic.
“This ABIT initiative to bring buyers from Australia is very important, because it is normally an expensive process, especially for small retailers. Therefore, it can be a great opportunity, especially if they find products that are different than what is available in Australia. This would permit them to stand out from their competitors,' analyzes Caddy.
