Tito Burgi, President of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (Switzerland) says ITMA has for many decades been a milestone in the regular international events which have marked the development of the textile industry that no executive can afford to miss.

By selecting Munich as the site for ITMA 2007, the world's textile machinery industry is paying tribute to the strong manufacturing base Germany still represents in the area of textile machinery building.

Well served by air, rail and road, Munich offers excellent facilities in transportation and accommodation to the many visitors the fair will attract from traditional and the emerging new textile producing areas in Asia, Africa and South America.

ITMA 2007, I am sure, will once again be the place for numerous textile companies to meet and assess their investment strategy.

Tito Burgi (President): Born in 1938, Mr. Burgi graduated in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan and attended a one year course of textile specialisation at the North Carolina University (USA).

Switzerland based ITMF's main objectives are to provide a forum for discussion of matters appropriately within the common interest and concern of textile companies. To provide a neutral meeting ground for textile trade associations for the exchange of information on matters affecting their textile industries, consistent with the trade regulation laws of the nations represented.

ITMA will be held from 13 to 20 September 2007. This world fair for the textile machinery industry takes place every four years, at alternating venues.

Each ITMA fair is attracts over 100,000 visitors and more than 1,200 exhibitors from all around the world. ITMA 2007 will take up the entire exhibition capacity at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre.
