SIMA's TEX SPARES 2006 - a unique forum for textile ind

The business visitors likely to visit Tex Spares 2006 would be who's who of Indian textile industry - Clothiers for the globe. The international Expo will be a unique forum to the user industry to get acquainted with the availability of all kinds of spares and choose appropriate spares at the right price.

Established in 1933 by late Sir. R.K.Shanmugam Chettiar, the first Finance Minister of Independent India. Started with 11 members. At present 304 textile mills spread over the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry and Tamilnadu are members of The Southern India Mills' Association (SIMA).

A few mills in the States of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra are also members. SIMA member mills account for 72.73 Lakh spindles and 4783 looms. Out of the total spinning capacity of 374.84 Lakh spindles in the country, about 20 percent is represented by SIMA. Approximately 2 Lakh workers are employed in SIMA member mills.

SIMA member mills together produced 24 percent of total cotton yarn manufactured in the country.50 percent of cotton yarn exported from India comes from southern textile mills.
