East India Cotton Association (EICA) organized the cotton trade conference recently.
Technology Mission on cotton which had played a crucial role in raising Indian cotton quality, production and export has obliged the government to extend the term by two years from its expiry in March.
Textile Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela, endorsed the demand from EICA to extend the term of TMC, but turned down EICA's demand for removal of cotton from the essential commodities category.
