Business likely to be brisker at Bremen cotton market

The course of business at the Bremen cotton market during the week under report continued its calm tendency due to seasonal conditions.
However, the works holidays of the spinning mills are now coming to an end and it is expected that business will be brisker from the coming week on.
After release of the latest crop estimate, the trade received more enquiries but these led only infrequently to the conclusion of contracts.
The cotton futures in New York declined and quoted to the end of the week under report about $2-cents below week before. The Cotlook A Index for North Europe quoted only $0.50-cents lower.
In the Upland range were small turnovers registered in Central Asian sorts for prompt and further in the 3rd and 4th quarter 2006; West African types for the 3rd quarter 2006 and Chad cotton for the 4th quarter 2006.
