Sioen Industries reports total growth increase 10.3%

GROUP RESULTS In general we can state that the first quarter of 2006, in which turnover rose by 10.3 percent, has been an exceptionally strong quarter.
In combination with unremitting efforts to improve efficiency and save costs and a pause in rising commodity prices, these growth figures have resulted in a higher gross margin than during the same period last year.
This trend has worked through to operating cash flow (EBITDA). Slightly higher financial charges and taxes result in a net profit for the past quarter which is almost identical to the one of the first quarter 2005.
Belgium based Sioen Industries is a multi-national group active in textiles, fine chemicals and protective apparel.
