Sioen Industries declares record growth & raw materials prices

The trend which was apparent during the first half of the year continued during the third quarter.
Thus we continued to achieve strong growth in the following product lines:
- Open structure fabrics (reinforcement nets, geotextiles, wind-breaking nets, publicity banners, etc.) - pigment pastes - polyester high tenacity yarns
The truck (tarpaulin) and textile architecture product lines experienced a slowdown in activity. Continuing increases of the prices of the main raw materials:
The entire sector is still contending with continuing rises in the prices of the main raw materials.
Naturally, this also has an impact on the company's results. Unremitting efforts are therefore being made to mitigate the effects of this cost increase as far as possible.
APPAREL DIVISION The market continues to grow in the third quarter for sales both to the European markets and via the company's Indonesian plant. Turnover rose by a total of 9 percent to EUR 54.3 million. Sioen has made a firm choice in favour of the high-value technical apparel niche. The products concerned offer solid future prospects as well as high added value.
