'Student Textile Bowl' at AATCC's IC&E in Oct

ATME-I 2006 exhibits will feature the following: dyeing; printing; finishing; knitting; weaving; yarn preparation; fiber manufacturing; color measurement and management; testing equipment; and services for the apparel and textile industry.

For the benefit of attendees who do not have a background in textiles and textile processing, guided tours of ATME-I exhibits are being offered the morning of October 31. Guides will provide an overview of the equipment and how it is used.

Student activities at the show include the Herman & Myrtle Goldstein Student Paper Competition and the Student Textile Bowl. Entries in the Student Paper Competition are judged on their written manuscript and their oral presentation. First and second place awards are presented to the two best graduate and undergraduate papers entered each year.

Additional conference events include a Welcoming Reception on October 31 and the Association's Awards Banquet on November 1. The Awards Banquet program features the presentation of the Olney Medal for outstanding achievement in textile chemistry, the Harold C Chapin Award for service to AATCC, and the Henry E Millson Award for Invention.

American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists Outstanding College Graduate of the Year will be recognized, as well as the winners of the Herman & Myrtle Goldstein Student Paper Competition, the C2C Design Competition, the Materials Design Competition, and the Student Textile Bowl.
