Market continues to behave calm

The course of the past week at the Bremen cotton market continued to be relatively calm. Most of the spinning mills have terminated their works holidays in the meantime, however, still hold back with the further supply of needs.

At present the range of available varieties is not very wide and the price ideas between industry and trade lie far apart, while offers from the countries of origin were rather given with reserve.

Turnovers for near sight were limited onto available low priced qualities, but conclusions of contract could as well be made for the first half year 2007.

In the Upland range were traded: Central Asian sorts for prompt and further in the 3rd and 4th quarter 2006; West African types for dates in the 3rd and 4th quarter 2006 as well as for the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007. Chad cotton was traded for shipment in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007.

In the ELS/LS range, Sudan Barakat cotton was sold for prompt loading.
