The Home Depot renews contract of ESPN's franchise show

College GameDay Built By The Home Depot, hosted by Chris Fowler with analysts Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit and contributor Desmond Howard, is entering its 20th season of college football coverage and 13th season of a consistent remote schedule.
With five Emmy nominations since 1993, the program provides fans unparalleled coverage of the day's top teams, match-ups, player profiles and storylines. It will kick off the season by originating from the site of Notre Dame at Georgia Tech on September 2 and Ohio State at Texas on September 9.
Both games will be part of the new Saturday Night Football series (8 p.m. ET), broadcast television's first weekly college football primetime series. The show will launch this season its first Web site named collegegameday.com, which will provide exclusive show content and access.
Traveling to college campuses across the country, College GameDay captures the rich history and pageantry of college football, routinely drawing thousands of spectators - 15,000-plus on several occasions - to watch the show live. College GameDay's popularity continues to grow, with the 2005 season being the show's most-viewed and highest-rated ever (1,438,000 households and a 1.6 rating) highlighted by its most-viewed episode ever (1,861,000 households on October 8).
