TTRI declares winners of 'creative textiles for the future'

Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI) organized a contest under the theme of 'creative textiles for the future', and it also announced winners of the contest.
TTRI received 56 applications from four universities such as National Taipei University of Technology, Transworld Institute of Technology, Shu-Te University, and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology.
16 students were selected as winners by awarding them gold, silver and bronze medals and five honorary mentions.
This contest encourages students to be creative and practicable and offers vast growth opportunities, informed Bai Chi-chung, Vice President of TTRI.
Bai Chi-chung informed that winners were selected based on creativity with a weight of 45 percent; practicality, 40 percent; and design, 15 percent.
Both gold and silver medals were snatched by National Taipei University of Technology.
Gold medal was given to special mountain climbing jacket equipped with solar cells which preserve electronic devices carried out by climbers and Silver medal was given to mouse pad that can also be used to package the computer peripheral.
Temperature adjustable garment developed by Shu-Te University was selected for bronze medal.
TTRI will also assist the winners to commercialize their creations, Bai Said.
