Sinopec Maoming Refining & Chemical Co has started operations of country's largest ethylene plant in Guangdong province before the schedule, according to company officials.
Company has expanded Maoming ethylene plant's production facility to 1 million tons from 360,000 tons with an investment of yuan8.1 billion.
Ethylene cracker which was installed during expansion process has started operating with capacity of 640,000 tons per year.
This expanded plant will increase Sinopec revenue by yuan15 billion to yuan70 billion.
