Business on the local market was decrypted as “uneventful” during the week under report.

Enquiries by the spinning mills led only in few cases to the conclusion of contracts due to the fact that either the demanded qualities were unavailable for the required date, or the price base was not acceptable for mill buyers.

Some smaller lots from merchant's stocks were sold for the bridging of supply gaps.

In the Upland range, turnovers were registered in West African types for the 4th quarter 2006, Chad cotton for dates in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2007; Central Asian sorts for prompt, further in the 4th quarter 2006 and in the 1st quarter 2007, as well as Greek descriptions for loading in the 4th quarter 2006.

In the LS/ELS range, smaller quantities of USA Pima and Egyptian GIZA 88 were traded for prompt loading.
