Indo Rama eyes production capacity of 1600 tons a day

Omprakash Lohia, Chairman and Managing Director of polyester giant, Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Limited, has informed that company is going to double its production from 800 tons to 1600 tons per day by next year with an investment of Rs850 crore.
The production capacity would increase from three lakh tons to six lakh tons on yearly basis and the company was also in final stages for starting a captive power plant to produce 30 mw to cater to power needs and later on sell it to state electricity generation company.
Earlier, Indo Rama, which produces staple yarn partially and polyester staple yarn (psf) at Butibori near Nagpur had decided to invest Rs858 crore but project was left in the lurch following the non-availability of raw-material.
The new expansion plan involves increasing production capacity by 400 tons per day by September end and another 400 tons per day by December.
The company does not intend to export and is preparing itself to meet the growing domestic demands. The expansion of capacity will provide indirect employment to the people.
