Price of Clothing & footwear rises 1.8% in Aug 2006

The CPI for the first eight months of 2006 rose by 1.2 percent over the same period of last year.

Price of Clothing & footwear increased by 1.8 percent due mainly to dearer ready-made garments and footwear.

The rise was mainly attributed to higher electricity tariffs, as well as dearer food and petrol.
