Calcot announces 2006 scholarship winners

Spencer Rietkerk ($2,000) a graduate of Corcoran High School in Corcoran, California; Jennifer Potstada ($1,000), from Madera and a graduate of Kerman High School; Christina Menezes ($3,000) a 2005 graduate of Atwater High School in Atwater, California.

Jared Little ($1,000), a 2005 Hanford High School graduate in Hanford, California; Catharine Kuber ($3,000), a 2005 graduate of Clovis East High School in Clovis, California; Jenny Konschak ($2,000), an ag science/communications student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo; James Nichols ($2,000), a 2005 graduate of Redwood High School in Visalia, California; Julee Evangelo ($2,000), a 2005 graduate of Lemoore High School in Lemoore, California.

Remi Errotabere ($1,000), a 2005 Riverdale High School graduate from Hanford, California; Christy Howe ($3,000), an ag science and education student at California State University, Chico; and Heather Page ($1,500) an ag management and technology student at the University of Arizona.

The Calcot-Seitz Foundation was established by the late G.L. "Sam" Seitz, upon his retirement as president of Calcot, Ltd., the cotton marketing cooperative owned and operated by California, Arizona and Texas cotton growers.

The Foundation has awarded over $768,000 to 337 students since its establishment. The program has also made educational grants of more than $150,000, including sponsorship of a market information center in the Agricultural Management department.
