There is a need to check uniform labeling on textile products in Brussels. The presentation of Italian Textile Fashion survey in Brussels has worried Stefano Acerbi, President of Confartigianato Moda.

He said he was concerned about locals not getting correct details of products which they purchased, as most of the info on labels were sometimes false and unreliable.

A European decree is immediately required on the official mention of origin for foreign products forcing a law, already existing in other countries, on importers. He informed that survey has verified the decree to be a better regulatory system and a strong law on traceability, and it protects customers and producers from faulty labels.

He said Minister Emma Bonnino has assured that a label showing country of the product will not oppose market logics. He added that the company will push proficient institutions to get the nod from European council of ministers for a decree on origin of textile goods.
