WTO is at a crossroads. The Doha Agenda, launched in 2001, and tasked to put development at its centre, is in a state of crisis. In July 2006, WTO members decided to suspend the Doha negotiations indefinitely and to take time-out for a period of reflection.

The WTO members would take some time to refocus their negotiations and rethink the model of trade needed to support development and employment objectives, the trade rules have the potential to make significant improvements to the world.

Therefore, the proposed workshop intends to take stock of our country's latest position in the WTO negotiations on issues relating to Agriculture and Non-Agriculture Market Access (NAMA).
