The market in the reported week was still affected through partially very different price ideas, so that despite concentrated inquiries only few contracts could be closed.
Trade sources described the slightly decreasing development at the New York Futures Market as contrary to the present price level for effective cotton.
A few contracts were closed for West-African and Central-Asian descriptions for the 4th quarter 2006 and the 1st quarter 2007, and Greek and East-African cotton for the 4th quarter 2006.
Immediate need was satisfied by Greek, Egyptian and Russian cotton.
From Chad, there were only price announcements, but no available quantities.
