Uster Technologies AG will introduce a preliminary version of the new USTER STATISTICS 2007 at CITME 2006 in Beijing. This 2007 edition includes not only the latest data of fiber and yarn proper-ties but also has been considerably extended by new fiber and yarn quality characteristics.

The USTER STATISTICS are quality reference figures which permit a classification of fibers, yarns, rovings and slivers with regard to the world production. The last edition for cotton fibers and yarns was published in 2001.

Since then we have collected, tested and analyzed again thousands of samples which resulted in a huge amount of data, converted now in over 1000 graphical representations.

The USTER STATISTICS are not established by merely collecting data. They are established by testing actual yarn and fiber samples that we procure on a truly global scale via our agents, over-seas partners, or direct contacts with our international clientele. The samples have been tested in our ISO 9001 certified textile laboratory in Uster, Switzerland.

With the 2007 edition we have processed more quality characteristics for yarns on cones, and the USTER CLASSIMAT STATISTICS are now also available for foreign fibers. In addition to the fiber and yarn benchmarks we extended the scope of the STATISTICS by including Process Sta-tistics.

What the Fiber Statistics are concerned we also have included the Maturity Index of the HVI, the Short Fiber Index and the Spinning Consistency Index; the AFIS data now also include the fiber fineness.
