Developed by the world's only chartered society and professional body dedicated exclusively to colour – one with over 80 years of experience in the development of international colour standards – the scheme converts colour creativity into colour certainty by ensuring consistent assessment and uniform colour communication between every link in the supply chain.
Alan Wragg agrees. 'Why SDC CAS? Because the scheme is the first of its kind – a totally independent scheme that encompasses not just the nuts and bolts of technical procedure, but a true understanding of colour application and communication.'
'Following a successful trial we have every confidence in this scheme meeting our needs and we look forward to it gaining recognition and support from the rest of the industry.'
Key criteria
There are two key criteria for successfully implementing the SDC Colour Accreditation Scheme. Each participant must have:
A properly maintained and calibrated colour measurement system (model and make is immaterial).
Trained personnel who know and understand their respective systems and the requirements of the accreditation scheme.
Logical development
SDC chief executive, Kenneth McGhee, sees the scheme as a natural and logical 'next step' for the Society as a champion of best practice in the coloration industry.
'Users of the SDC Colour Accreditation Scheme can enjoy the security and confidence that comes from using ascheme from a single, highly respected and totally committed source. An organisation with an impeccable pedigree in colour and long-time experience of serving the global coloration industry.'
