SNCT, one of the major FR garment suppliers to the US Military, notified TenCate Protective Fabrics USA that they will be awarded a significant order for flame resistant camouflage print fabric.
The fabric, made with aramid, will be printed with the new UCP, Universal Camouflage Pattern. The order amounts to $15 million. It is expected that for the most part the order will be delivered in the first quarter of 2007.
TenCate Protective Fabrics USA is the leading supplier of flame resistant printed fabrics to the US military. SNCT uses TenCate's UCP fabric to manufacture garments for military personnel operating in combat vehicles, aircraft as well as in other high risk areas.
TenCate recently developed a second generation UCP fabric called GEN 2, a more comfortable fabric versus the standard military product providing added comfort without compromising flame resistance or other required functional characteristics.
TenCate Protective Fabrics owns the patent for printing aramid based fire resistant fabrics.
