Gunter and Wingate, with more than 20 years of experience each in the carpet and home furnishings industries, give the company the experience needed to grow and diversify in the future. Johnson said he was fortunate to be able to keep such a successful and experienced group of people working together in the new CSB World Carpets.
Johnson has a long history of business relations with Springs Industries and stated he was looking forward to continuing this relationship in the future, with the growth and development of CSB World Carpets.
The purchase includes manufacturing and related assets in Dalton, GA, and Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Springs entered the area rug business in 2002 to complement its existing accent rug product line. The product categories were consolidated into the Decorative Floor business unit, which remained part of Springs Industries when the company restructured its textile home furnishings operations into Springs Global US, Inc., at the end of 2005.
