Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) announces that the Kala Raksha Design School for Traditional Artisans -"Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya" - launched last year in Kutch (Gujrat).
Now, we are proud to invite you to the First Annual Convocation Mela of the Vidhayala - a three day long celebration of art and design in rural India planned around the convocation of the first batch of graduates.
The Mela brings together the flavours of the traditional village fair and a platform for showcasing cutting edge of traditional craft.
This will be a wonderful opportunity to buy or order completely new art and craft of the finest design and quality and to view the exhibition of Kala Raksha Vidyalaya Graduates.
You can also take part in Weaving, Block printing, Tie & Dye workshops, take camel-cart rides to our nearby Rabari village, enjoy cultural programs and food of Kutch - and witness a very special Fashion Show of creations of the Vidhyalaya's Graduates.
