Calm course of cotton business

The past week under report showed barely changes to the preceding one. As before, demand of the spinning mills concentrated mainly on very near delivery dates, but there was only little choice of growths offered for this period of time.

The quotations for cotton futures in New York had again increased in small steps and quoted by ample 50 respectively 100 points higher for the near trading months December 06 and March 07 in comparison with one week before.

In the Upland range sales were concretised in West African types for prompt and for the 1st quarter 2007; higher and lower Central Asian sorts for the same period, as well as lower Greek grades for prompt / 4th quarter 2006.

Within the LS/ELS varieties conclusions of contract were registered in Egyptian GIZA 86 and 88 for prompt and in the 1st quarter 2007; Israel Pima for the 1st quarter 2007 and Sudan Barakat for the 1st quarter 2007.
